This occurs because the database configuration already exists due to this being a re-configuration of the SAS 9.2 Business Intelligence platform. The Software Deployment Wizard does not remove the existing database configuration because it might contain user-generated content.

To fully remove the exiting database configuration (data and metadata), perform the following steps:

  1. Stop the TableServer process.
  2. Start SAS Management Console and log on as a TableServer Administrator or unrestricted user.
  3. Expand Table Server Manager > SASTS and select 'Data Source Names'.
  4. In the right hand table, select the 'SharedServices' item, click your right mouse button and select 'delete'.
  5. Expand Table Server Manager > SASTS > SAS Data and select the 'Transactional Databases' item.
  6. In the right hand table, select the 'SharedServices' item, click your right mouse button and select 'delete'.
  7. On the machine where TableServer is running, go to the
    <SAS_Config>/Lev{n}/SASTS/Content directory
and delete (or rename) the SharedServices.fdb and SharedServices.fdb.lck files.
  8. Restart the TableServer and continue / restart / start your configuration process.

This is marked as fixed in SAS 9.3.
